Name: Louis Hoffman
Title: Training Coordinator
Louis Hoffman serves as a program manager and has been a travel instructor with NJTIP since 2008. He specializes in group travel instruction programs for older adults and people with disabilities, as well as Connect to Transit workshop training for professionals.
Mr. Hoffman currently manages multiple projects including a new multi-county mobility management program focused in Union, Mercer, Middlesex and Burlington Counties, and leads targeted projects with schools and human service agencies. Throughout his tenure, he has created customized local guides using public transit for Union County, Bergen County, Caldwell, Verona, West Orange, South Orange, Montclair, and Elizabeth. His work at NJTIP often involves partnering with a diversity of stakeholders including local government/counties, transportation management associations, and nonprofit organizations.
He worked with VTC research specialists to develop the Connect to Transit curriculum for human service professionals that is used throughout New Jersey, and developed a Safe Routes to Transit tool to document the process of Environmental Barrier Analysis and Route Assessment.
Mr. Hoffman is a graduate of the School of Social Work at Rutgers University with a concentration in Nonprofit and Public Management as well as an area of emphasis in aging. He was a recipient of a 2012-13 Fellowship in Aging. Additionally, Louis Hoffman was a board member of the National Association of Travel Instruction from 2010 through 2015.
