Title: Research Project Coordinator
Sarah Tomasello is a Research Project Coordinator with the Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center (VTC). She has contributed her skills in analytical research and writing, survey design, and graphic design to a range of projects at VTC in subjects such as public engagement, comprehensive planning, bicycle and pedestrian safety and planning, and environmental resilience planning. As a member of the Public Outreach and Engagement Team (POET), she plans and facilitates activities that offer members of the public meaningful and approachable opportunities to participate in policy development. Sarah’s work for POET has included implementing an extensive public outreach program for the Middlesex County comprehensive master plan, drafting an agency-wide public engagement plan for the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, developing training materials for a three-day National Transit Institute course on public involvement, and conducting outreach to limited-English proficient and other hard-to-reach residents. She holds a BA in planning and public policy and is currently taking graduate courses in city and regional planning, all at Rutgers University.
