Trish is a Public Engagement and Outreach Specialist/Project Coordinator at the Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center (VTC) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey with experience in active transportation research and policy, public outreach and engagement and marketing and communications. She manages the New Jersey Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Resource Center in conjunction with the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) providing services, training, coordination, research and technical assistance to the State’s eight Transportation Management Associations (TMAs), local and regional governments, schools and school districts, non-profits and other organizations with the goal of encouraging and enabling children to walk and bike to school safely.
Trish also has extensive experience in public outreach and engagement by supporting Together North Jersey, the HUD-funded initiative to develop a Sustainable Communities Regional Plan, implementing Innovative public engagement strategies for the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA), one of the State’s three Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) coordinating public outreach for the Regional Coordinated Services Transportation Plan for traditionally underrepresented populations and other VTC projects by planning, managing and implementing community and youth outreach to collect feedback and suggestions.
Along with an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Columbia Business School, Trish has extensive background and work experience in marketing and communications. She manages social media, websites and communications – both online and traditional – for VTC and NJ SRTS, utilizing all forms of media to increase awareness of sustainable transportation and health considerations. Trish also leads and implements research projects for VTC on active transportation.
