Name: Larry Lindstrom
Title: Training Coordinator
Larry Lindstrom joined NJTIP in 2006 and worked on the initial NJ TRANSIT pilot program for travel training. He joined the Voorhees Transportation Center as Travel Training Coordinator in 2013 with NJTIP @ Rutgers. Mr. Lindstrom specializes in one-on-one travel instruction teaching persons with disabilities and others how to safely and independently utilize public transit. He teaches in classrooms, on public transportation, and online. He contributes to NJTIP’s group travel trainings and often represents NJTIP at various transportation seminars and outreach events. He has performed research work involving the transportation needs of people with autism for the Rutgers Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation.
Mr. Lindstrom graduated from Rutgers University in 1977 with a B.A. in Economics. He earned 30 credits in special education from various institutions. His previous work experience included Kraft General Foods, Toll Plaza Supervisor for the Florida Department of Transportation, and he taught special education in both New Jersey and Florida. Mr. Lindstrom is a member of the National Stuttering Association and Speak Easy support groups for people who stutter. Mr Lindstrom released a book, Five Uneasy Pieces: A Mind Boggling Memoir on July 4, 2020.
