Name: Miriam Salerno
Title: Senior Public Relations and Outreach Specialist
Miriam has been working on extensive public outreach and engagement for Together North Jersey, a HUD-funded Sustainable Communities Regional Planning initiative led by the Edward J. Bloustein School at Rutgers University. These public outreach efforts include managing stakeholder committees, planning and executing a variety of workshops around the region, deploying kiosk-style pop-up booths, and utilizing online and social media tools. Together North Jersey’s outreach efforts also include a heavy focus on engaging traditionally underrepresented communities in the planning process.
Miriam has over 10 years of experience in energy/environmental policy and has worked extensively in both the public and nonprofit sectors. Her areas of expertise include: public outreach and community engagement; energy and environmental policy; climate change; green business practices; and international development and diplomacy.
Miriam holds a Master’s Degree in International Environmental Policy and Development Economics from The Johns Hopkins University – School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
