News 12 recently featured a story on NJTIP @ Rutgers graduate Hunter, highlighting how travel instruction empowered him to confidently use NJ TRANSIT to get to work and travel independently throughout his community.
Hunter’s journey reflects the impact of NJTIP’s personalized travel training program, which empowers people with disabilities to develop the skills and confidence needed to use public transportation safely and independently. Through one-on-one instruction, participants learn to independently navigate their communities to access destinations including employment, shopping, medical appointments and recreational and social opportunities.
