Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Project Coordinator II for the Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center, a unit of the Bloustein School of Public Planning and Policy.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Assists with grant-related activities at the center.
  • Assists Principal Investigators (PIs) with daily research and business processes associated with sponsored projects and center activities as well as the logistics and implementation of project-related meetings and events such as trainings, workshops, focus groups, advisory committee meetings, and conferences.
  • Assists with meeting/event invitations and registration processes, promotion and marketing through website and other electronic media.
  • Monitors expenditures within budget constraints; coordinating event logistics for both online and in-person meetings.
  • Oversees administrative compliance with project-related time-keeping, expense reporting, and procurement.
  • Coordinates the hiring and on boarding of student research assistants.
  • Ensures that all Rutgers protocols are maintained including risk management, emergency procedures, insurance, etc.
  • Functions as a data custodian for human subjects research participants.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Problem-solving skills, good organizational abilities, motivation, and flexibility are essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, Access) or comparable products
  • Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Sustained attention to detail while maintaining awareness of important priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desktop and laptop computers
  • MS Office software: word processing, database, project management, and spreadsheet applications
  • Expected to use and be familiar with copier machines, fax, and other office equipment

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Requires work availability outside of regular office hours
