This project will help to address the need for information on induced demand by developing and piloting a guide that provides a framework for State DOTs to consider induced demand effects in various applications of transportation policy development, planning, and project development. The research will provide new insights into induced demand effects as well as clearly summarizing the existing state of knowledge and available data and analysis methods. VTC will work on a detailed literature review of current knowledge on induced travel and will also work on techniques for communicating this knowledge to practitioners.
