The NJDOT Technology Transfer (T2) Program (2021-2026) focuses on increasing awareness of transportation-related issues in New Jersey, fostering idea exchange, translating state-of-the-art trends and practices, showcasing innovation, and disseminating research in an actionable format. The program promotes innovation adoption through knowledge transfer, training, demonstrations, communications, marketing, and technical assistance.
A collaborative effort between the NJDOT Bureau of Research, Innovation, and Information Transfer (BRIIT) and Rutgers-VTC, the T2 Program identifies technology transfer needs, conducts outreach and engagement, and prioritizes activities that advance innovation deployment.
Key research and implementation activities include:
- Identifying and addressing NJDOT technology transfer and knowledge capture needs.
- Developing training programs, events, and peer exchanges to close knowledge gaps.
- Maintaining the NJDOT Technology Transfer website.
- Supporting NJDOT Bureau of Research staff in national and state-level research efforts.
- Providing tools for soliciting research and innovation ideas for the NJ State Transportation Innovation Council.
- Preparing an annual Implementation Status Report.
- Managing the NJDOT Research Library, including on-site staffing and space management.
