The goal of this workshop is to discuss the use of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as a basis for transportation policy and legal frameworks, identify best practices, and connect transportation LCA researchers and practitioners.  Workshop attendees will: 1) learn about Transportation LCA initiatives; 2) discuss the role of transportation LCA in policies for automated vehicle technologies or transportation fuels; 3) identify common research areas/challenges and develop a centralized community under TRB.

Building A Resilient Rail Transit

This workshop brings together agencies, policy makers, and professionals to share experiences and gain practical knowledge in urban rail transit resilience. This workshop focuses on three key aspects of rail transit resiliency – extreme weather and natural disasters, asset management, and demand growth. The first part of each section presents case studies and insights in the three subject areas while the second part of each section provides hands-on learning through individual and group activities, with ample time for discussion and interaction.
