The Destination 2040 planning process is designed to create a future-oriented master plan that is adaptive to changing circumstances and new opportunities. To achieve this end, RU-VTC will work with the County to develop Destination 2040 as a strategic action plan. The Plan will clearly articulate a long-range vision as well as goals and objectives for the County. It will also provide a framework that guides shorter-term decisions regarding what policies, projects, programs, and partnerships the County can/should advance in the next 1-5 years to achieve its long-range vision. The plan will be developed as a “living” document that is part of an on-ongoing process which includes regular implementation, monitoring and periodic updates aimed at continual improvement. This project also includes development of various subplans, including: Invest Smart, Middlesex County’s Strategic Investment Framework, Forward Together, Middlesex County’s Coordinated Human Services Transportation Plan, Bike Easy Walk Safely, Middlesex County’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Masater Plan, Nature and Place, Middlesex County’s Cultural Landscape and Ecosystem Services Plan, and Middlesex County’s Vision Zero Action Plan.
