Kiara Ryan is a Research Project Coordinator at the Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center (VTC) at Rutgers University. Her research interests lie at the intersection of transportation, equity, and the environment, which she explores through the lenses of accessibility and human behavior. Her training includes ADA compliance, universal design, Crime Prevention through Environmental Design, Complete Streets and most recently, virtual engagement.
Prior to employment at VTC, Kiara served as an Americorps volunteer at the Sonoma County Transportation Authority, where she supported transportation demand management programs and GHG emission reduction initiatives through research, technical writing, and graphic design.
She received a Master in City and Regional Planning degree at the Edward J. Bloustein School for Planning and Public Policy. Kiara received her Bachelor of Arts from Muhlenberg College, where she studied Political Economy, Public Policy, and Sustainability Studies.
